ZERO Support Group Leader 2026-2027
Support Group Leaders (SGLs) are dedicated volunteers who lead monthly peer-to-peer support meetings for individuals affected by prostate cancer. These meetings offer a safe and supportive environment where participants can share their experiences, exchange ideas, and learn from one another. Leaders are compassionate individuals who help connect others to ZERO’s mission, resources, and community. Qualifications: Passion for ZERO’s mission to end prostate cancer and support those affected by the disease. Experience with prostate cancer as a survivor, caregiver, or advocate preferred but not required. Ability to create a positive, respectful, and safe environment for group members. Availability to lead one group meeting per month and dedicate additional time for preparation and follow-up. Access to a phone, computer, and internet for virtual meetings (if applicable). Skills: Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Empathy, patience, and excellent listening skills. Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.
