Golden Bridges School Community Greening at Hawk Creek Farm
Volunteers of all ages will tend to the land together so the soil can continue to mitigate flooding, help provide clean air for residents, including the wildlife that are part of the ecosystem of the farm, and grow food which we offer for free to our neighbors, many of whom experience food insecurity and scarcity of fresh perishable foods. We will be removing invasive species by weeding our garden beds, caring for our 60+ fruit trees in our orchard and throughout the farm, planting native plants and vegetables to be grown for food distribution, and harvesting fresh greens to offer at our free farm stand in our Sanctuary Garden on the sidewalk portion of our farm. Any greens not collected by neighbors by the end of the Community Work Day will be delivered to the Tiny Free Farmstand.
