Join us in restoring the health of White Center Heights Park. This event is in partnership with the Duwamish Alive! Coalition who is celebrating 20 Years of Improving the Health of the Duwamish Watershed through Collaborative Stewardship. Additionally, King County Executive Girmay Zahilay, will be featuring the event as a King County Regional Day of Service. The Executive will be there in person, doing his part to restore and protect the Duwamish watershed and he’ll be bringing volunteers with him! He’ll be bringing King County Volunteer Corps members with him to help power this year’s Duwamish Alive and he’ll be inviting everyone at the event to join the Corps themselves, to expand the spirit of Duwamish Alive across the entire county. We can do this – together. His new volunteer initiative, “Volunteer Corps,” enables ready-to-serve King County residents to meet the pressing needs of local King County non-profits and departments. White Center Heights Park is a small residential park with a lot to offer: community garden, picnic shelter, pond with suspension bridge, Pacific Islander-style roasting pit, bat houses, and a lot of wildlife. IMPORTANT: Any minors (people under the age of 18) attending the event without their parent or legal guardian must bring a signed Youth Waiver to the event and give to staff before event in order to participate.
