Thank you for your interest in volunteering as a group at Houston Humane Society! Group volunteer days are a great way to support our animals while building teamwork through hands-on service. This opportunity is the first step in scheduling a group volunteer visit and is intended for organizations, businesses, schools, and community groups looking to volunteer together. Group volunteer opportunities are offered in two-hour shifts and are typically scheduled on Thursdays and Fridays, within the timeframes below: AM: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM PM: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM Groups will book an AM or PM shift, and our team will confirm a specific 2-hour window within that timeframe that best fits your schedule. For planning purposes, group volunteer scheduling is available up to 3 months in advance. Requests beyond this timeframe may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Additional scheduling note: If your group is requesting a different day, we may be able to accommodate with enough advance notice to coordinate staffing, animal care schedules, and service project logistics. Please submit your request as early as possible, and we’ll do our best to work with you. Note: If your group has more than 20 participants, please sign up for your desired date/time and then email ajaspe@houstonhumane.org with your group name and estimated headcount so we can discuss options and confirm whether we’re able to accommodate. 🐾 What Your Group Will Do (Sample Activities) - Tour of our campus - Cat interaction - Dog walking - Pet Pantry food bagging - Meet Exotics Animal Ambassadors - Special projects (as available) Your group’s final assignments will be confirmed by email once the group session is booked, based on current needs and your group’s interests. Availability is currently limited as we balance volunteer support with outreach and programming.
