Summer of Service with Wasatch Mountain Institute
The One Utah Service Fellowship (OUSF) is a state AmeriCorps program for high school graduates, college students, and emerging professionals who want to create meaningful change across Utah while gaining real-world experience. This immersive program places fellows with community-based organizations, nonprofits, and public agencies working on Utah’s most pressing needs—from education and mental health to public health, environmental stewardship, and social services. If you’re passionate about service, leadership, and impact, this is for you. Wasatch Mountain Institute (WMI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring curiosity, confidence, and connection through transformative outdoor and educational experiences. Serving youth, schools, and community partners, WMI delivers high-quality programs that integrate environmental education, leadership development, and social-emotional learning. Through hands-on, place-based experiences, WMI empowers participants to build meaningful relationships with themselves, others, and the natural world. Application Deadline: 05/07/2026 Service Term: 25 hours per week for 3 months Expected Term of Service Dates: 05/22/2026 - 08/14/2026* *May be subject to change. Living Allowance Stipend twice monthly of $720, total of $3,600 2. Education Award of $1,565, upon successful program completion which can be used for education costs up to cost of attendance or for eligible student loan repayment 3. Loan Deferment and Interest Forbearance on federally- guaranteed student loans, with potential interest repayment while serving 4. Access to Member Assistance Program: Includes free telephonic mental health counseling, professional assessments, webinars, and exclusive discounts 5. Access to National Monthly Member Gatherings; Virtual Networking Connect nationwide, share experiences, and celebrate successes. Provide feedback to influence training and resources. Monthly Trainings - Learn from experts on mental health, advocacy, and secondary trauma. 6. Access to Member Assistance Fund: Up to $1,000 in direct cash assistance to address unexpected expenses around transportation, housing, medical, and family loss.
