Los Padres Forest Association Discovering Nature Event
The LPFA will be partnering with the Santa Paula Canyon Crew to celebrate National Public Lands Day in Santa Paula Canyon on Saturday, September 19th!
We need all the help we can get on this one. Even with weekly cleanups over summer, there is so much to clean up out of the canyon before the rains come. This is your chance to give back to a canyon and forest that gives us so much! We'll be focusing on cleaning up trash between the parking lot and Punchbowl, as well as covering graffiti in the riparian corridor.
We will be meeting at Steckel Park on Highway 150 at 0800 and caravanning on to Thomas Aquinas College for better access to the canyon. Everyone will need to arrive together, but can leave as they need. If you can't stay until 4pm, no problem. Sign on up and come for however long you can!
The hike will be about 8 miles round trip and creek crossings will be wet, but that's part of the fun! Please come prepared with: good hiking shoes, sun protection, and enough food and water for yourself for the day. Please also have a backpack for your personal items to keep your hands free! All graffiti removal gear, gloves, trash bags, and trash grabbers will be provided.
