Green Market volunteers play an important role in supporting healthy lifestyles and encouraging sustainable communities. Our Green Market encourages sustainable communities in the most basic way ? by providing shoppers with direct access to local farmers and merchants. Volunteer opportunities are Saturdays, 7:30 am - 2 pm. All volunteers must fill out a waiver prior to volunteering and return it to eglasener@piedmontpark.org (volunteers need to fill out one waiver per calendar year). Volunteers will primarily assist vendors with unloading their vehicles, general clean-up; market set-up and market break down. Volunteers may also lend a hand at the Green Market Information booth and our Education Garden. Volunteers must be friendly, outgoing and enjoy interacting with the public Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds This is a rain or shine event, so volunteers must be willing to work in all types of weather conditions We encourage volunteers to bring a refillable water bottle with them Volunteers should come dressed for the outdoors and wear comfortable closed toed shoes Age requirement is 18 and up All volunteers must sign a liability waiver This opportunity is not recommended for groups Court-ordered volunteers are accepted. Volunteers must complete the 6.5 hours to receive credit, unless otherwise arranged before volunteering Location: The Green Market is located at the 12th Street and Piedmont Avenue NE Park Entrance. Volunteers will check-in at the Piedmont Park Conservancy Community Center (1071 Piedmont Avenue, NE, Atlanta, GA 30309). Parking is NOT available at the community center. Directions to the Park: Piedmont Park is accessible by walking, bike, Atlanta BeltLine, MARTA and car. Visit our website for directions and a park map. Please note that the City of Atlanta Park rules prohibit smoking of any type. This applies to all parks including Piedmont Park. SAGE Parking Facility: The best GPS address for the garage entrance is: 1320 Monroe Dr., NE, Atlanta, GA 30306. The road leading into the garage is Worchester. Please note there is a fee to park. The Conservancy does not validate parking. Park on Level 1 (the lowest level). Enter the Park via the large entrance framed by 2 benches. Parking for the Atlanta Botanical Garden is on level 5. It?s a 5-10-minute walk from the SAGE Parking Facility to the Green Market. Important Guidelines for Visiting the Market COVID-19 Safety We ask that our patrons and volunteers to follow a few simple guidelines when attending the market to keep everyone safe and healthy: If you feel sick, please stay home or send someone else in your place We will have hand sanitizer stations at the entrance to the market We ask that no food be consumed on site, but picnics in the park are encouraged We want to provide a safe and peaceful market experience. Mask requirements will depend on City Guidelines. *Green Market does not take place during the Dogwood Festival, Atlanta Jazz Festival, Music Midtown, Peachtree Road Race, and Atlanta Pride Festival.
